Hi! I’m Suz and I live on the East coast of Scotland with my husband and two children. As well as being a wife and mother, I’m also a Literature graduate, a high school teacher, a keen sewist, knitter and general dabbler in anything crafty, a book lover and a coffee and wine enthusiast.
I’m also a gardener, which is probably why you’re here. Our home is on a new build estate and over the last few years (since October 2015), we’ve worked to transform our garden from a weedy, poorly draining blank canvas in to a garden that extends our living space outdoors. Although it is also home to football goals, a playhouse, decking, a trampoline and an overstuffed toy box, if you wander across the lawn to our little South facing corner, you will find a wonderfully productive kitchen garden. It’s fairly small, but it provides us with a space in which to learn, play and grow beautiful, organic produce all year round.
I’m guessing that you also share my passion for education, the outdoors, sustainability and organic growing, which is great. Although I love to grow things, I also love to chat about growing things with like-minded people so I’m really happy to have you here with me and hope that you find my musings and garden updates interesting. You might want to check out my Instagram page too.
I’d love to hear from you if you have any questions or queries or if you’d like to chat all things ‘grow your own’. If you would like to collaborate on a project or if you would like to know more about the equipment etc. that I use, please do get in touch. I am also open to writing honest reviews of gardening products, articles on growing your own and working on projects with like-minded brands. Previously, I have worked with brands such as Le Creuset, Wilko and Homebase and featured in magazines such as Kitchen Garden, Scotland Grows and The Scotsman newspaper.
